The game puts you in the cockpit of rugged monster trucks fitted with massive tires, ready to tear across rough tracks spread across 30 challenging levels (split over two stage pages). You start in the Garage with a custom orange Hummer and can bank the coins you collect along the way to unlock 4 other beastly trucks, like a red-and-white muscle pickup for 3,500 coins. The tracks take you through vibrant desert sunsets lined with trees, wooden river bridges, and stacks of junk cars waiting to be flattened.
The gameplay comes down to throttle control and balance. You get a brake/reverse pedal in the bottom-left corner and a gas pedal in the bottom-right corner. Out on the track, you have to be gentle on the gas: floor it too hard over steep jumps or across rows of junk cars, and your top-heavy truck will flip backward and blow up instantly. But when you feather the throttle just right, stick smooth landings, crush entire lines of parked cars, and sweep up strings of shiny gold coins, it feels awesome.
