Want to make a delicious meal with vegetables from your own garden? Roll up your sleeves, because that backyard isn’t going to clean itself! In Holubets Home Farming and Cooking, you help a young woman take care of her garden, harvest fresh ingredients, and prepare Holubets, also known as stuffed cabbage rolls. Published by Games360, this farming and cooking game on Woko Games takes you on a little journey from the garden to the kitchen. But before you start thinking about dinner, there’s plenty of work to do!
Your first job in Holubets Home Farming and Cooking is to clean up the messy garden beds. Plastic bottles, scraps of paper, and other trash are scattered all over the place. You’ll need to pick everything up and toss it into the trash bin to get the garden ready for planting. Watching those messy garden beds become neat and clean is pretty satisfying. After all, who wants to grow vegetables in a pile of old bottles and garbage?
Once the garden is clean, it’s time to prepare the soil with tools like a garden fork and a small shovel. Choose the right tool, make neat rows in the dirt, and get ready to plant some seeds. As you work through the gardening steps, you’ll grow vegetables to use later in the cooking part of the game. Most tasks involve clicking, dragging, and dropping items as instructed, so you don’t need any real gardening experience to get the job done.
The fun part of Holubets Home Farming and Cooking is that you’re not just growing vegetables to make your garden look nice. You’ll actually use what you harvest to prepare Holubets, a stuffed cabbage roll dish popular in Eastern Europe. From cleaning the garden and planting vegetables to getting everything ready for cooking, each task brings you a little closer to a homemade meal. Let’s just hope our young gardener doesn’t get hungry too soon. Those vegetables aren’t going to jump out of the garden and into the cooking pot by themselves!
The game features bright, colorful 2D cartoon graphics. A red-haired girl in blue overalls, a garden full of little flowers, wooden fences, and brown garden beds give everything a cute, cheerful look. The gardening tools are easy to recognize, so you can quickly figure out what to do next. I especially like the part where you work the soil and watch neat rows appear as you drag your mouse. Real gardening might leave you with a sore back, but here, a few clicks get the job done!
