description Description

A frosted donut might make you want to take a bite. In Sugar Balance on Woko Games, though, your first job is to land it in the red-and-white striped cup waiting below. This HTML5 physics puzzle game gives you a slightly unusual assignment: remove the blocks supporting the donut or obstructing its path, then let gravity carry it to the target. You end up feeling like an accidental demolition worker handling a dessert delivery. The goal is easy to see, but before each click, you still need to work out how everything above a block will move once it disappears.

The opening level introduces the idea with a clear layout. The donut rests on a wooden crate, the cup sits below it, and a gold star hangs between them. The donut, its support, and the cup’s opening are almost perfectly aligned, so you can immediately picture what needs to happen. An on-screen prompt also tells you to click the block. That first action establishes the basic rule: remove the support and release the donut. You don’t need to learn several keys or memorize a string of commands. What matters is the donut’s position relative to the cup, since that helps determine which block you should remove. Making the crate disappear is only the first step. The donut still has to reach the right place.

An object beneath the donut can look like something that needs clearing out of the way. It may also be the support keeping the donut still. Remove it, and the donut starts moving, with its direction depending on the other surfaces it touches. Its round shape means you need to consider whether it might roll sideways instead of following a straight line down. A cup sitting lower on the screen won’t automatically catch every fall. If the donut’s path misses the opening, the space you’ve cleared won’t accomplish much. Before clicking a block, check where the donut is resting and what it could hit after losing that support.

Clicking away obstacles as soon as you spot them can make you act too quickly. If other objects remain below, you might release the donut before its route is ready. Looking upward from the cup’s opening helps you check the whole path. You can consider where space needs clearing, what still blocks the way, and which object holds the donut in place. That’s a useful way to plan, but it isn’t a guaranteed solution. Sometimes an object needs to stay. The question is still straightforward: if you remove this block, where will the donut go next? If you can’t picture the answer yet, another click may set things moving before you’ve figured out the layout.

Once you click, the donut’s movement shows whether your prediction held up. Does it follow the expected path, hit something that remains, or drift away from the cup? Watching only the target can make you miss a collision farther up that changed its direction. Following the donut from the moment it loses its support makes the cause easier to spot. That’s what makes a retry useful: you have something specific to change, such as keeping the block you removed or trying a different order. You don’t necessarily need to rethink the entire level. A small adjustment is worth testing when it comes from something you observed, rather than clicking away every block and hoping the donut finds the cup.

The restart option lets you return to the original layout and try another approach. Wanting another attempt comes naturally with this kind of puzzle because the target is still right there, and you’ve seen where the previous attempt went off course. You can come up with a simple theory and test it. Would leaving this block in place change the path, or should you deal with an object below it first? Working through those possibilities gives each attempt a clear purpose. When the donut finally reaches the cup along the route you predicted, the result feels much more satisfying than a lucky click. You understand what you got right and why the donut finally made it.

The visuals keep things cheerful while you work through questions of support and gravity. The pink-frosted donut, scattered with little sprinkles, stands out against the brown wooden crate. The striped cup sits on a stool, while the bright background has a hexagonal pattern and small green decorations scattered around it. The pink shape draping across the top resembles a layer of icing, fitting the donut’s sugary appearance. The portrait layout keeps both the starting position and the target in the same view. You can check the cup’s opening, then look back at the supporting blocks without searching elsewhere for the destination. I find that arrangement well suited to a game where you need to study the fall before making a move.

Sugar Balance suits players who enjoy thinking for a moment, then testing an idea with a few mouse clicks. You choose a block, watch the donut move, and adjust your approach if the result isn’t right. That tasty-looking donut won’t find its own way into the cup. Its movement follows the changes you make to the level. Getting a tidy result means choosing your removals carefully. You can worry about eating the donut once the delivery job is finished.
