A major airline does not start with hundreds of planes or packed airports. It might begin with only a few short routes before gradually growing into a network that spans multiple continents. Idle Airline Tycoon puts you in charge of that journey as you build and manage an airline of your own.
You start by connecting cities and putting aircraft into service. Each active route generates revenue, which can be reinvested in network expansion, airport improvements, and new additions to your fleet. As more destinations become available, the map grows busier with flights constantly traveling between different regions.
The game features more than 50 cities across multiple continents and 25 different aircraft to choose from. That is enough content to keep expansion going well beyond the first few upgrades. You will steadily unlock new destinations, assign aircraft to routes, and improve airports to attract more passengers.
When I first started playing, I was careful with every investment because revenue was still coming in slowly. Sometimes I had to choose between saving up for a new route and spending the money on existing upgrades. Once several flights were operating at the same time and the route network began stretching across the map, waiting for the next round of earnings felt a lot less tedious.
The idle mechanics allow your airline to keep generating income even while you are away. When you return, you can reinvest the accumulated cash in a few more upgrades and watch your network continue to grow. The game also includes an optional prestige system for players who want to begin a new progression cycle and climb even higher through the management ranks.
