description Description

You might think that putting matching donuts into a tube would be straightforward, until the one you need is buried under another and you start looking around for somewhere to park it. The neighboring tube is full, while the only empty one now holds a color you haven’t figured out what to do with yet. Ball Color Sort Puzzle Game on Woko Games puts you in charge of that deceptively simple sorting job, with blue and brown donuts mixed together inside transparent tubes. In this HTML5 puzzle game, you move them one at a time to group matching colors in the same tube. The task feels a lot like tidying up, except that anything you casually dump somewhere now will probably need moving again later.

You click a tube to select its top donut, then click another tube to move it there; on a phone, you perform the same actions by tapping. You can move a donut into an empty tube or place it on another of the same color, provided there’s room, because each tube holds a maximum of four. Any donut underneath has to wait until you’ve moved the ones above it, so spotting the color you need doesn’t mean you can grab it immediately. This restriction can test your patience when the brown donut is right there and you know where it belongs, but the blue ones on top still need somewhere to go. The game won’t let you squeeze an extra donut into a full tube just to get things moving.

The first level eases you in with two tubes, one holding a single donut and the other holding three identical ones. When you move the lone donut across, all four fit neatly together, so you can learn how selecting and moving works without much planning. By the second level, blue and brown donuts alternate inside two full tubes, with an empty third tube beside them to give you room to work. You can start by moving the top blue donut out of the way, which exposes the brown one underneath and lets you look for somewhere to group it. Just as one tube starts looking less messy, though, the remaining donuts give you something else to think about, because sorting out the top hasn’t necessarily solved what’s underneath.

One of the easiest mistakes happens when you spot two matching donuts and immediately put them together, even though another color is still trapped below them. A tube with several brown donuts neatly stacked on top looks promising until you remember the blue one stuck at the bottom. At that point, you may need to reverse your recent moves to reach it, which makes choosing a destination worth a little more thought. You don’t have to plan the entire level before starting, but before each move, you should check what you’re about to uncover and whether you’ll have somewhere to put it. The satisfying part comes when a move frees the donut underneath and the matching colors finally start finding a home, rather than getting shuffled back and forth between tubes.

Fortunately, the game has no time limit, so if you’re unsure, you can leave the board as it is and take another look. The absence of a ticking clock also takes some of the pressure out of a bad move, especially when you put something down and immediately realize you needed that space for another color. The Undo feature lets you step back and correct your last move, while the extra tube tool gives you more room when the layout feels cramped. The game also offers a skip option if you want to move on to another puzzle, and it displays the available uses alongside the helpers. Working your own way out of a jam still has its appeal, because after staring at a pile of donuts that seems to be going nowhere, you suddenly spot a move that gets things going again.

You earn 10 diamonds for completing the first level, and you can save them up to spend in the customization shop. The shop has separate sections for backgrounds, tubes, and item designs, and a random unlock in the background section costs 500 diamonds. Those options give you something else to work toward beyond solving the current puzzle, while sorting the colors remains the main task. The donut design suits the game well, since the blue and brown varieties are easy to tell apart and make the tubes look as though someone packed a batch of pastries in the wrong order. You can clearly see what’s on top and what’s underneath, so it’s hard to blame poor visibility when you’ve just put something in the wrong place.

The warm sky and layers of hills sit behind the board, while the tubes stay centered in the portrait layout, close enough together for you to check them all before deciding on a move. The scenery leaves your attention on the donuts that need sorting, but their patterns and the little sparkles around the board keep things cheerful. You might start out wanting to rearrange a few donuts, then stick around because one stubborn tube of mixed colors keeps bugging you. Once everything is in its proper place, the neat row is enough to make the effort feel worthwhile. Hopefully, after all that donut sorting, you’ll still have some patience left for whatever needs tidying up in real life.

info Instructions

You click or tap a tube to select its top donut, then choose a destination tube that is empty or has a matching color on top and room available. You complete the level by grouping each color into its own tube, and you can use Undo or an extra tube when you need help.
