description Description

One click, and a whole group of fire blocks disappears. The water blocks above fall down, the earth blocks shift, and suddenly, a much bigger group forms. One more click, and you’ve already earned a nice chunk of points! But click on a single block that isn’t connected to any others, and you’ll lose 250 points. That’s what makes Elemental Collapse more interesting than your average color-matching puzzle game. Published by LofGames.com and available to play online on Woko Games, this puzzle game gives you a board filled with colorful elemental blocks. Your goal is to find matching groups, clear them, and reach the target score to complete each level. Sounds easy, but one wrong click can mess up your whole plan!

If you’ve played puzzle games like SameGame, you’ll quickly get the hang of Elemental Collapse. The board is filled with square blocks featuring different elements, including red flames, blue water drops, and green earth symbols. You need to find at least 2 connected blocks of the same type and click to clear the entire group. Unlike Candy Crush Saga, there’s no need to drag or swap blocks around. Just click on a matching group, and it disappears. The remaining blocks shift into new positions, changing the layout of the board after every move.

One thing worth paying attention to is how the size of each group affects your score. Clearing a small group can free up a few spaces, but larger groups are where the bigger points come from. For example, imagine you have a group of 3 fire blocks next to each other, while farther down the board, there’s a connected group of 6 water blocks. Which one would you clear first? If you’re only thinking about scoring points right away, the answer might seem obvious. But clearing one group also changes the positions of other blocks, so sometimes a smaller move can help you create an even bigger group on your next turn.

My favorite moments are when clearing a large group leaves a big empty space in the middle of the board. The surrounding blocks start falling into place, and suddenly the colors are arranged differently. Sometimes you’re struggling to find a decent group of water blocks, but after clearing a few fire blocks, a bunch of blue ones end up right next to each other. Spotting an opportunity like that feels pretty satisfying, especially when you can clear another big group and score even more points. Just don’t get too carried away clicking one group after another. If you’re not paying attention, you might accidentally break up a large group into smaller ones that are harder to clear.

And whatever you do, watch out for single blocks! This is one of the most important rules in Elemental Collapse. If you click a block that isn’t connected to another block of the same type, you’ll get a 250-point penalty. That’s a pretty big hit, especially when the target score for Level 1 is only 250 points. Imagine working hard to set up a great combination, earning a nice amount of points, and then losing 250 of them because of one careless click. That’s definitely frustrating! So before clicking a block, take a quick look at the ones around it and make sure it’s part of a matching group.

Luckily, you don’t have to clear every group on your own. Elemental Collapse also gives you some useful power-ups. Arrow clears an entire row and column, helping you remove a lot of blocks in one move. Magnet removes all blocks of the selected element, which comes in handy when one color is scattered across the board. Bomb explodes and clears the 8 surrounding blocks. You can earn these power-ups by clearing large groups of matching blocks. Use them at the right time, and they can help you get out of situations that would be difficult to handle with regular matches.

Imagine there are only a few fire blocks left, but they’re spread so far apart that you can’t make a large group. That’s when Magnet can be a great option for clearing blocks of the same type. On the other hand, if one area is packed with different elements, Bomb or Arrow can help clear some space. I like how these power-ups give you more ways to deal with the board instead of just repeating the same process of finding matching blocks. But using a power-up as soon as you get it isn’t always the best move. Sometimes saving it for a tougher situation can make a much bigger difference.

Another thing that makes Elemental Collapse stand out is its visual style. While many puzzle games use colorful candies or balls, this one takes inspiration from the elements and a world of magic. Bright red flames, glowing blue water drops, and earth symbols appear inside square tiles with clearly defined borders. Behind the puzzle board, you’ll see a fantasy landscape with ancient stone structures, tall mountains, and a cloudy sky lit by the evening sun. The whole thing looks like something from a fantasy adventure game, even though most of your time is spent finding matching blocks. Who needs a magic wand when you can control fire, water, and earth with a mouse?

The more you play Elemental Collapse, the more you’ll realize that clicking quickly isn’t enough to solve every puzzle. You need to think about which group to clear first, which blocks might come together afterward, and when to use your power-ups. When the board is full, you usually have plenty of choices. But after clearing several groups, the remaining blocks can become more spread out, making it harder to find good matches. That’s why I think taking a few extra seconds to look over the entire board is sometimes better than clicking the first matching group you see.

Can you clear the elemental blocks and make it through the next levels without losing points to careless mistakes? Play Elemental Collapse on Woko Games, create big combinations, and figure out the best ways to use your power-ups. It’s a fun choice when you’re in the mood for a colorful puzzle game that makes you think a little before every move. After a few rounds, you might even become pretty good at setting up huge groups and earning impressive scores. But if your first move is clicking a single block and losing 250 points, you might want to rethink your strategy before trying any more magic!

info Instructions

How to Play: Use your mouse or touchpad to click on groups of at least 2 connected blocks of the same element to clear them. The larger the group, the more points you can earn, and you may also receive useful power-ups. Avoid clicking on single blocks, as each one costs you 250 points. Use Arrow to clear a row and column, Magnet to remove all blocks of the selected element, and Bomb to destroy the 8 surrounding blocks. Reach the target score to complete each level and unlock new challenges.
