A shiny blue diamond is sitting on the other side of a gap. All you have to do is jump over and grab it, but there’s a whole row of sharp spikes waiting below. And just to make things worse, a red creature with glowing eyes is standing right in your way. Welcome to Bluebo, a 2D platformer developed by Anamik Majumdar and available on Woko Games. You play as a little blue character with a round body and a permanent smile, collecting diamonds, avoiding dangerous enemies, and trying to reach the finish line. He might look cute and cheerful, but his adventure is anything but easy!
Bluebo features 8 levels, each with its own set of obstacles to overcome. You’ll move across platforms, jump over gaps, and collect all the blue diamonds scattered along the way. However, grabbing the diamonds is only part of the job. You also need to reach the flag at the end of each level while staying away from sharp spikes and hostile red creatures. One careless move could put all that hard work collecting diamonds to waste.
Luckily, your little blue buddy has more than just a basic jump. In Bluebo, you can perform a double jump by pressing the jump button twice. This ability comes in handy when you need to cross wide gaps or reach higher platforms. However, hitting the jump button over and over won’t magically get you through every obstacle. You still need to judge the distance between platforms, time your jumps, and figure out where you’re going to land. A well-timed jump might get you across a gap, but a bad landing can send you straight off the edge.
The red creatures in Bluebo don’t look particularly interested in making friends with your little blue hero. They stand on platforms, sometimes right next to the diamonds you’re trying to collect. You’ll have to find a way past them without getting too close. What’s funny is that Bluebo keeps that same big smile on his face, even when there’s an enemy ahead, a deep gap behind him, and a bed of spikes below. Either this little guy has nerves of steel, or he has absolutely no idea how much trouble he’s in!
The world of Bluebo uses colorful pixel art that brings back the look of classic platform games. Bright blue platforms stand out against a purple sky, with dark mountains and fluffy white clouds in the background. Red-leafed trees add a splash of color, while glowing cyan diamonds are easy to spot along the way. The main character has a simple design with bright eyes and a goofy smile, which makes a funny contrast with the grumpy-looking red enemies. Everything looks cheerful and playful, although missing a jump by an inch might wipe that smile right off your face!
One of the trickier parts of Bluebo is that the diamonds aren’t always placed along the easiest route. Some float between platforms, while others sit right above dangerous spikes. If you rush toward the finish line, you could easily leave a few behind. Double jumping helps you reach difficult spots, but you still need to think about where you’ll land afterward. Sometimes the finish flag is already in sight, but you’ve got a couple of diamonds waiting somewhere behind you. So instead of heading straight for the exit, poor Bluebo has to keep hunting for treasure. Apparently, reaching the finish line isn’t quite enough for this little guy!
If you enjoy classic platformers with cute characters, shiny collectibles, and jumps that require a bit of skill, Bluebo is worth a try on Woko Games. Help your smiling blue hero make it through all 8 levels and collect every diamond along the way. Just remember to look before you leap! A sparkling diamond might be tempting, but it’s probably not worth diving headfirst into a pit of spikes.
