description Description

A little square sits in the bottom-left corner of the screen, while the goal is way over on the other side. There are no monsters, bottomless pits, or scary obstacles between them. So how hard could it be to get that square to the finish? Give it a try and you’ll find out! Square Gravity is a gravity-based puzzle game published by fight boys and available to play online on Woko Games. Your job is to guide a small square to its target through levels with different layouts. The game looks incredibly simple, but getting that little square exactly where it needs to go takes a bit of patience.

Take a look at Square Gravity, and you’ll notice there’s almost nothing on the screen besides a light blue-gray background and a few dark lines. The character you control is just a little square with rounded corners. No eyes, no arms, not even legs! The goal is just as simple, made up of 9 small dots arranged in a square on the other side of the screen. It looks more like a geometry problem than a video game, but that’s part of its charm. With no cartoon characters or flashy effects to distract you, all your attention goes to that tiny square and figuring out how to get it where it belongs.

In the first level, your square starts near the bottom-left corner of an area surrounded by thick borders. The group of dots sits on the opposite side, near the bottom-right corner. The distance between them isn’t very big, and there aren’t many obstacles in the way yet. It’s a good chance to get used to the controls and see how the square moves. The goal looks close enough, but the trick is getting your square into the right spot instead of just moving it around randomly.

Things get a little more interesting as you move on to the next levels. The play area is no longer just an open space. Horizontal walls start appearing, with some extending from the left side toward the middle and others sticking out from the opposite side. These barriers divide the area into smaller sections, so reaching the goal isn’t as straightforward as before. You’ll need to look at how the walls are arranged and figure out a way around them. Sometimes you can see the goal right in front of you, but getting there takes a much longer route than you expected.

I like how Square Gravity can turn a few simple lines into a real challenge. In a lot of games, the difficulty comes from enemies, speed, or obstacles moving all over the place. Here, adding just one wall in the middle of the screen can completely change how you approach a level. You might know exactly where you need to go, but you still have to figure out which way to take your square first. It feels like solving a little puzzle, where paying attention and understanding how your character moves matter more than anything else.

Gravity is also a big part of Square Gravity. Instead of jumping over enemies or attacking anything, you’re focused on how your square moves inside a limited space. The outer borders and walls create barriers you have to work around. A spot that looks easy to reach can become surprisingly tricky when there’s a wall in the way. That’s why it’s worth taking a moment to look at the whole area before you start moving. Sometimes finding the right path is much more useful than trying to get somewhere as quickly as possible.

Square Gravity has 20 levels shown on the level selection screen. You start with Level 1 and work your way through the challenges that follow. Each level gives you another chance to test your observation skills and control. Twenty levels might not sound like a lot, but in a puzzle game like this, the number isn’t what matters most. Moving just a few walls into different positions can completely change the solution. You’ll need to figure out a new route instead of simply repeating what worked in the previous level.

The clean interface is another thing I appreciate. While playing, you’ll see a sound icon in the upper-left corner and a four-square button in the upper-right corner that lets you access the level selection screen. There aren’t a bunch of numbers taking up space or constant effects getting in your way. Most of the screen is dedicated to your square, the walls, and the goal. It’s a good fit for a game where you need to watch your route carefully, since you can easily tell where the obstacles are and where you’re supposed to go.

Square Gravity is also a nice choice if you enjoy quick puzzle games on your phone. You can use the on-screen touch controls without having to learn a bunch of complicated moves. But simple controls don’t mean every level will be easy. As more walls appear, you’ll need to pay closer attention to your square’s position and find a way to reach the target. I think this is the kind of game where, after finally beating a tricky level, you immediately want to try the next one just to see what new layout is waiting for you.

If you’re used to games filled with bright colors, loud action, and endless missions, Square Gravity offers something a little different. There are no giant bosses to defeat or hundreds of coins to collect. All you have to worry about is getting one tiny square to its destination. Play Square Gravity on Woko Games and see if you can make it through all 20 levels. Maybe you’ll solve every puzzle in no time, or maybe you’ll spend way longer than expected trying to get past one little wall. If that happens, don’t blame the square too much. The poor thing doesn’t even have legs to get itself to the finish!
