description Description

Most of us probably remember sitting in math class, trying to memorize multiplication tables while hoping the teacher wouldn’t call on us. Those lessons might seem like a distant memory now, but Math Squares gives you a pretty good reason to use them again. This fun little puzzle game on Woko Games combines simple math problems with a classic memory card game. You get to test how well you remember numbers, how quickly you can solve equations, and whether your brain still remembers what it learned in school. The best part is that nobody will give you a bad grade if you make a mistake!

The idea behind Math Squares is pretty simple. The game places a set of face-down cards on the screen, and each card hides a number or a multiplication problem. Your job is to flip the cards and find the pairs that belong together. The puzzles focus on square numbers, so you might need to match 16 with 16 × 16 or recognize that 100 is the square of 10. You probably know some of these answers already, but remembering where you saw each card is a different story. Sometimes you know exactly which number you need, yet you can’t remember which card was hiding it.

Before the game begins, you can choose between 3 difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. The Easy mode is a good starting point if you haven’t practiced multiplication in a while. Once you feel comfortable, you can move on to Normal or try Hard for a tougher challenge. Some of the larger square numbers also appear as multiplication expressions, which makes them easier to work through. I think having three difficulty options is a nice touch because you can start with something familiar instead of jumping straight into the hardest puzzles.

What I find interesting about Math Squares is how it makes two simple skills work together. You might be great at mental math, but that won’t help much if you forget where the cards are. On the other hand, remembering every card position isn’t enough if you can’t figure out which numbers belong together. I also like that the game gives you those little moments when you recognize an answer right away, only to realize that you’ve completely forgotten where its matching card was. It’s a little frustrating, but it’s also what makes you want to keep trying.

The graphics are simple, and I think that actually works in the game’s favor. The screen has a bright green background with square cards outlined in white. Each hidden card displays a large black question mark, so you can easily see what you need to select. There aren’t any animated characters or busy backgrounds pulling your attention away from the puzzle. I like how the clean layout keeps everything focused on the numbers. The game also includes a pause button and a sound icon, which are easy to find without getting in the way.

Another thing I appreciate about Math Squares is that you don’t need to spend time learning complicated rules. You can open the game in your browser, choose a difficulty level, and start flipping cards. The puzzles give you a chance to practice multiplication and improve your memory while enjoying a little break from your day. I wouldn’t call it a replacement for math homework, but it certainly makes working with square numbers more entertaining than staring at a worksheet.

If you think your memory is as good as your math skills, Math Squares is a fun way to put that confidence to the test. You can play it on Woko Games and work your way through all 3 difficulty levels. Maybe you’ll surprise yourself by remembering every card and finding the right pairs without much trouble. Or maybe you’ll spend half the game wondering where that number you just saw disappeared to. Either way, your brain is getting some exercise, and you don’t even have to leave your chair!
