After a brutal shift at work, I only planned to fire up a quick browser game to relax for five minutes before shutting down my PC, but I wound up losing an entire hour to Fishdom Online on Woko Games. Looking at the name, most folks would assume it is just another cookie-cutter match-3 clone. Instead, it is a stacked 4-in-1 minigame bundle, dishing out everything from number-crunching survival and tower defense to chilled-out fishing and underwater hoops.
Kicking things off on the main menu is Eating Evolution, an addictive spin on the classic big-fish-eats-little-fish formula. Your bright orange clownfish starts out with a power rating over its head – say, a 10 – and you drag around to gobble down weaker prey sporting a 3 or 4 to build your way up to 25. I got cocky on one run and darted straight into a purple-striped fish rocking a 12 and a glowing red skull icon, only to get swallowed whole because I didn’t bother checking the numbers first.
Swapping over to the second mini-game, Merge Turret, shifts gears entirely into waterborne tower defense. Starting from Level 1-1, you spend gold coins on level-0 turrets, mash identical guns together to ramp up your firepower, and place them on grid tiles to blast schools of fish swimming along the trench before they slip past your line.
When you want to kick back at a slower pace, the third game, Fish Master, drops you into a bobbing wooden dinghy with a pipe-smoking fisherman. Every drop sends your hook plunging 12 meters deep to snag clownfish and yellow puffers, reeling in stacks of 10 and 20 coins. You can pour those earnings straight into three crucial stat boosts: line depth, hook capacity (bumping your catch power from 4 up to 6 fish per cast), and an offline earnings boost that reaches 10%.
Then there is Basketball Master, which totally comes out of left field with a headband-wearing character shooting hoops on the seafloor. What makes it click is that the basketball banks off the screen borders, letting you dial in clean trick shots off the wall. Just pull back to line up the trajectory arc, let go to jump into the air, and tap once more with good timing to slam the ball home for a super clean swish.
Instead of keeping four different tabs open, this package rolls the whole variety show into one slick, ocean-themed hub. Boot it up, feed your fish, merge some high-tier guns, and haul in a record catch to see if you can run the table on all four modes!
