Instead of building towers along a path like in many other tower defense games, Fortress Defense lets you place archers at different positions on your castle walls. Enemies approach from the left side of the screen, while your archers fire arrows from above to stop them. As more enemies show up, you’ll need to watch your archers’ strength and keep an eye on your castle’s health. If your defenses are too weak, that castle gate won’t last long!
Before heading into battle, take a look around the shop. You can buy archers with different outfits and stats, then upgrade them to deal more damage or increase their chances of landing critical hits. Some of the starting options cost 10, 15, or 20 coins, while the Strong Wall upgrade costs a whopping 2,000 coins. You’ll also find helpful items like Double Arrow, Poison, and Freeze to give you more ways to deal with enemies. I like this part because it makes you think about how to spend your money. Should you hire another archer or save up for a stronger upgrade? Shopping is fun, but one bad purchase could leave your castle in trouble!
