Looking for a simple game to kill a few minutes? The Life Run on Woko Games has a pretty funny idea: run forward while passing a baby back and forth between two adults, then try to send the kid through positive gates to give them a better future.
The gameplay takes only a few seconds to understand. Two characters run side by side on separate paths, and you click to toss the baby from one person to the other. Ahead, you’ll see gates with numbers like +9, +8, and +5, along with much worse options like -4 or -6. See a positive gate? Get the baby on that side. See a negative number? Probably best to stay away.
It sounds easy, but I still found myself clicking a little too early or too late. One second the baby is going through +9, and the next good gate is already on the other side. There’s only one main action, but the constant switching keeps the run moving and makes it a good little time-killer.
The points you earn also affect what happens at the end of the level. Better gates help the baby level up and reach a better job when the run is over. Jobs include Clerk, Chef, Engineer, Police, Lawyer, and Scientist. So missing a +8 somehow feels a little worse when you know the kid’s future is on the line.
There’s also cash to pick up along the way, with your total shown in the corner of the screen. I usually tried to watch both the gates and the money, although getting greedy sometimes sent the baby straight toward a negative gate. The game is simple, but there’s just enough going on to keep you paying attention.
The Life Run uses bright, colorful 3D graphics, with the track floating between tall orange, green, and yellow towers. The numbers on the gates are big and easy to read, which helps when you only have a moment to decide where the baby should go next.
This isn’t the kind of game that asks you to learn combos or read a long tutorial. Jump in, click at the right time, pick the better gates, and see what job the kid gets at the finish. Each run is quick, so it works well when you want something light to play during a short break.
